You rarely find someone more passionate about their produce than Sharon and Greg ( Rambo) Bailey who own Little Willow Lavender Farm. The seven-acre farm is nestled in the rich farming land of the Liverpool Plains near Willow Tree
It is their little piece of paradise in the North West Slopes & Plains Region of New South Wales. And it was such a privilege for me to have the morning with the delightful Baileys.
Sharon and Greg showed me around the property where I could view the new lavender crop coming on. The Baileys grow two varieties of lavender on their property - Grosso Intermedia and Angustifolia. The delicate, sweet fragrance wafting from the lavender plants was strong and felt calming. I was also lucky enough to see the old stationmaster's cottage build in 1890. This cottage was named Little Willow, so the obvious name to call their budding business was Little Willow Lavender.
Sharon and Greg are members of The Australian Lavender Growers Association (TALGA). They love attending the annual conferences and thoroughly enjoyed one in Port Arthur in 2019, where they met and shared our experiences with fellow Lavender farmers from throughout Australia & New Zealand. Little Willow Lavender was also honoured to receive an award at the conference dinner.
Both varieties are farmed, dried and used to make lavender oil, soaps, candles and bath tea bags and bath salts.
