Sarah Murphy grew up by the gum trees of the Murray River. She would ride horses, jump in tinnies and row across the water. Sarah describes her childhood as fun and idyllic and this love of life has definitely transferred into the beautiful beauty product range called Murphy and Daughters that Sarah has developed.
Sarah was a buyer in the homewares department at The Iconic Melbourne for a number of years before she decided to venture out by herself. After sourcing unique and beautiful products from around the world for another company she was very keen to develop her own range of Australian made products, all from locally sourced ingredients. The name for her business came from her grandparent's news agency name which is Murphy and Sons with the packaging taken a modern interpretation of early Australian fauna and flora. The bright colours of the artwork, combined with the great array of scents have made this product exceptionally popular.
The range is handmade with love and hard work, the ingredients are sourced 100% sustainably and use only ethical practices. The hand wrapping and packaging are done at Ability Works which is a corporation that employs people who have disabilities aiming to empower them with meaningful employment.
Sarah takes pride in her brand's product's and even her daughters Posy and Lola are put to work to get their orders met. Sarah says that pooling together her family to help with the business has meant that between them they have many skills and talents". Coming from a family of small business owners has meant that Sarah has been provided with invaluable guidance and feels very blessed for her family and their part in helping to make her idea come to life. They are all about creating a joyful and indulgent experience. There is nothing more relaxing than using luxurious products in the shower that leave your skin smooth and silky and smelling great.
